Just wanted to let you know about the upcoming information for the Celebration of the Arts show. The Celebration of the Arts show will be happening in the gym on Thursday January 21st at 7pm. Doors will open about 6:30 for the public. Admission is by donation. All dancers are expected to show up between 5:30 and 5:45 with hair and make up done and first outfit on.
Grade 8 dance students will be practicing in the gym on Tuesday during Literacy and Wednesday in the theatre during Literacy
On Thursday January 21st in the day students will be meeting last block (block 5) in the gym and we will quickly block each dance and each piece in order. Students will then go home and eat dinner and get ready for the show.
Between 5:30 and 5:45 dance students will meet in the theatre. Please be at the theatre for 5:45 (unless you've made other arrangements with me). At 5:45 we will head to the gym and run our dances. After that, we will go back to the theatre, take photos and then students will head backstage to get ready for the concert. Students will be backstage on their own and it's important that they're quiet and following directions by the assigned assistance.
At the end of the performance, each dancer is responsible to stack 5 chairs into the corner into stacks of 15. Students are also required to put costumes borrowed back into the proper place, which does not mean in the middle of the stage in the theatre! (I will go over all of this next week.)
Thank you all for being so amazing! ~ Cynthia Berenyi
